Paul Jake, who’s making the headlines lately for dating actress Melissa Ricks is holding a cute Pomeranian in the pic. Notice how the dog is looking straight at the camera while Paul Jake is looking somewhere else. LoL!

Dogs are Love

Dogs should be used in entertainment media just in purposes such as this. Not in violent scenes, no matter how they say "no animals are harmed in the process."

Dogs are to be loved. To be cared for like a member of the family. To even be hand-fed if they don't like to eat at some point.

They are not to be shouted at, or worse, to be hit or kicked.

They are to be given a bath every four days. Heartgard every month. Dewormer every 3 months. Vaccines as per scheduled by the vet.

(and did I forget to put Dear Sister at the beginning of this post? :D)

Pet Grooming: Nail Trimmer

I've been paying a hundred pesos for Princess' nail trim every month. She doesn't like it when we touch her paws so we decided it'd be better to just bring her to the groomer for nail trim. We were afraid we would hurt her if we're the ones who'd clip her nails.

Aside from that, most of her nails are black so it's really hard to see the blood vessels.

I dropped by Ace Hardware yesterday to look for Shoe Goo. They don't carry the brand so I just roamed around a little until I saw this:

I thought I would try giving Princess a nail trim on my own. I immediately tried it on her the minute I got home. She was making funny sounds all throughout the process, cried once (but there was no blood, really), but successfully clipped all her nails in one sitting.

This means I could save a hundred pesos every month. No, make that a hundred pesos more for the climb budget.

Dogs Don't Have a Choice

Not only the kids suffer when parents divorce, but the pets as well.

Charlie Sheen was allegedly mistreating the two pugs he and ex-wife Denise Richards owned. When Denise learned about it, she immediately took action to rescue the dogs and took them under her care. Unfortunately, one of the dogs died of malnutrition shortly after being removed from Charlie Sheen's home. (Read about the story here.)

These are pugs were talking about here, and these creatures are so small that they eat so little. If a pug died of malnutrition, clearly he wasn't fed well.

I always tell my friends to take good care of their pets because these pets don't have a choice on who their masters would be. Instead, we humans are the ones who choose them to be our pets. And with getting a pet comes great responsibilities. If you think you can't take the full responsibilities of having a pet, they just don't get one.

And I really hope it's not this cute dog that died.

Animals for Fashion

I love how animals, especially dogs, are used in fashion shoots, be it a fashion story or catalogue. I just hope these animals are not in any way harmed, or colored just to have a perfect picture.

Below is Francisco Lachowski with a dog and a rooster for Reserva Catalogue Spring/Summer 2011.

Chicks

I love animals. And although I'm not a devoted vegetarian as of the moment, I bleed seeing animals as young as these chicks colored, caged, and sold to kids who don't even know how to take care of them.

Some of them end up dead even before anyone care to buy them, and what happens to those bought by the kids, I'll never know. Lucky are those who go to loving hands.
