I wasn't able to blog about StarStruck V's finale last Sunday because I wasn't feeling so well that day I didn't even watch the show. I had it recorded, though, and watched it Monday. But of course, with all the buzz on the net, I already knew who won even before I got to watch it.
I was surprised by the male winner. Okay, Steven Silva is cute. But heck, the boy couldn't even act during their acting test. He could sing and dance naman so perhaps he'd be made to do just that for the meantime. Oh but wait! I already saw him as a nurse in The Last Prince even before he was proclaimed the winner!
I don't mean to sound bitter, but I was just so surprised. I thought the battle was between Rocco Nacino and Enzo Pineda but I should have known when they announced the total number of past votes the remaining contestants gathered when they were still 6 in the competition. Steven, correct me if I'm wrong, gathered the most number of fan votes from week 1 up to that stage.
Steven naman is cute. And I guess, with the right Tagalog training, he'd be a good actor. Let's just pray that he won't be another Mike Tan who won the title but never really shone.
As with the female winner, Sarah Lahbati was fine. I also wouldn't have any problem if Diva Montelaba won because they're two of my bets. Diva naman looks old beyond her age. She needs more make-over. I think it's her eyes that makes her look old.
But I really think Diva will shine - brighter than her skin tone (kidding). Then Rocco would be eventually made into a sexy actor, while Enzo would be the matinee idol.
The runners-up were interviewed live by Chika Minute's Pia Guanio earlier in 24 Oras. Notice how old Diva looks.

[StarStruck] Congratulations Sarah and Steven
Missing Her Hair?
If you watched StarStruck V Live last Sunday, you'd know that Princess Snell sported a long hair via hair extensions. Does that mean she didn't like her short hair that was one of the results of her StarStruck make-over?

Be Careful How You Pose for Pictures
Look what I found while lurking the Facebook page of Ian Batherson:
Steven Silva and Ian holding each other's collars? LoL! Amfanet!
But let's take a better look at Ian's photo during their session with Jun de Leon:
StarStruck V Top 8 on Family Feud!
The StarStruck V's 8 remaining survivors played contestants in this afternoon's episode of Family Feud which is being hosted by Dingdong Dantes.
The girls - Diva, Sarah, Nina, and Rox - played together as the Star Family.
It was fun to watch while their intelligence was being tested in answering the survey questions. In the end, though, the Star Family won.
Rox and Diva played the Fast Money Round. But they were unable to take home the jackpot.
Such exposure for the StarStruck V Survivors. I hope GMA-7 would give them more shows to guest into soon.
[StarStruck] Judges Use Factor 2
Bottom 3 consisted of Nina, Rocco, and Sarah. Nina was declared safe, thus, leaving Rocco and Sarah at the bottom. I was personally confused as to where the show would go if either of the two was sent home.
I'm an Ian fan but I must admit it won't hurt me one bit if Rocco becomes the Ultimate Male. Likewise, I'm a fan of Rox but Sarah and Diva are my bets to win the competition.
During the early part of the episode, the judges were asked if they thought they'd use the Factor 3 tonight. And they said no. Factor 2 is their ability to stop the elimination, thus, saving the one who was destined to be evicted.
When Nina was declared safe, the judges were again asked if they'd use the Factor 2. And luckily for Rocco and Sarah, the judges changed their minds. They used their ability to save, therefore, no one was eliminated tonight.
[StarStruck] Princess and Piero Get the Boot
I wasn't able to watch StarStruck last night cuz I was visiting Danilo at the hospital in Alabang. I had to run pa cuz I thought malls there close at 9. Business hours is only up to 8 lang pala. E, I had to pay PLDT. I was rejected at Bayad Center eventhough their door sign was still OPEN. Western Union was already closed. We ran to LBC and the one remaining staff was already sweeping the floor. Buti na lang he accepted my payment although it was dated Monday na. Okay lang at least I wouldn't go out anymore today just to pay PLDT.
Anyway, I really thought Nina and Steven were at risk last night. I was actually surprised to know Princess and Piero were eliminated. But then thinking about it, this week was a "vote to evict" week and perhaps, fans of the other remaining girls voted for Princess. So no matter how loud her fans cheer for her during live shows, and no matter how loud her fans could get in internet forums, perhaps she still has more haters than fans. Saka she's intimidating din. At least those who ganged up on Rox are all gone now.
But Piero, really? He's the sweetest among the boys! Not that I can account for it first hand but oh lord. He shouldn't have gone!
Rocco is still there, though. But he's so short and doesn't have a chance to grow tall anymore. He's already 22. Piero is only 16. Sweet 16. Would have been perfect to build up as a matinee idol.
Let's just hope that GMA-7 will still help out Piero.
[StarStruck] Surprise Tests
Broadcasting live from SM City North Edsa, the ten remaining StarStruck V Survivors danced for their fans at the opening of the show. It's just too bad for Rox who couldn't dance as much because of a) high heels; and b) tube dress. Perhaps they weren't the ones who chose their outfits cuz I'm sure she wouldn't pick that if she knew she'd be dancing and jumping.
The surprise acting test of the survivors with GMA-7's "primera contrabida," Glaiza de Castro, was aired. They went under the direction of Cannes Film Festival Best Director, Brillante Mendoza, for the film "Kinatay."
The girls did a drama scene with Glaiza entitled "Isang Umaga" where the survivors played the role of a girl who accidentally got pregnant while being sent to school by her sister (Glaiza) who works in a club. Well, "club" isn't such a bad term these days anymore, but it could be perceived that Glaiza's character works as a prostitute.
Knowing Glaiza, there was a lot of shouting and the survivors shouted back. But sadly, Glaiza ate them in whole. Personally, I liked Rox and Diva because they were able to deliver their lines well.
The male survivors, on the other hand, played a captive to an obsessed admirer played by Glaiza. I was laughing hard cuz everyone had a "bading" moment. Ian was shouting like a fag and Rocco's "ano ba?" was unforgettable. Sadly, Steven wasn't able to deliver at all.
Why they'd get contestants who could barely speak Tagalog when all the acting tests were in Tagalog, I really don't understand.
As expected, Steven and Nina were chosen the weakest in that challenge. Brillante Mendoza said that it's because Steven became limited to his dialogues (but of course) and Nina wasn't that motivated and was relying to her co-actor.
There was also a hosting test that I blogged about a couple of days ago, where Wilma Doesnt and Lucy Torres-Gomez played as guests. The survivors had their own antics but since it's a test, there were those who excelled and those who failed.
Wilma and Lucy named Nina and Steven to be the worst hosts. Now I'm curious where Steven will shine. He's not good in Tagalog and he's also not good in expressing himself in English?
Anyway, Lucy chose Ian and Piero as the best hosts for her, while Wilma chose Rocco for being intelligent. Lucy added that she also liked rox-star(?) but that makes me wonder if that's Ian (but she already picked him before that) who looked like a rockstar, or Rox. Rox's name might have reminded Lucy of the word rockstar. But I'm not so sure cuz they didn't flash either Ian or Rox's face when Lucy said that.
Kyla also played part in this episode by being the surprise celebrity duets of the survivors. Each had their individual pieces so it's kinda hard to compare. Although some of them really knows how to sing like Diva and Sarah among the girls and Steven and Piero among the boys. Steven, though, got tensed when he saw Kyla so the number didn't go well.
Kyla rated the survivors and Diva and Sarah both got a 9 from her, the highest score Kyla gave out. Both Rox and Nina got an 8 while Princess got the lowest score of 7.
Among the boys, Kyla chose Piero to give her highest of 8.5. Ian got an 8, Rocco a 7, and the lowest score of 6 went to Enzo and Steven.
Tomorrow is eviction night and not only 1 but 2 survivors will have to say goodbye. From how things went this week, Nina and Steven are at a risk to be voted out, especially by the judges Lolit Solis, Iza Calzado, and Floy Quintos.
It's not too late to cast your votes against the survivors you want evicted. Just type OUT
[StarStruck] Hosting Test
The ten remaining StarStruck V Survivors had a surprise hosting test, and their guests - Wilma Doesn't and Lucy Torres-Gomez of the longest-running talk show on Q11, The Sweet Life.
Most of them didn't know what to do, especially that Wilma and Lucy was there on the purpose of distracting the survivors in their hosting job.
The survivors each had their own antics. But the two guests were seen standing up to leave while Enzo was still hosting, and Wilma said Sarah dared the wrong person in what seemed to be a belly dancing challenge.
To know more about the hosting challenge, and to know who Wilma Doesn't and Lucy Torres-Gomez think should be eliminated, watch StarStruck V Live! this Saturday, January 9, 2010, as they broadcast live from SM North EDSA.
[StarStruck] Make You Feel My Love Music Video
Before the "heartbeat moment" last night, a music video of the song "Make You Feel My Love" featuring the 10 remaining StarStruck V Survivors, was aired.
The MV was serene, pure, the editing was okay it showed the survivors in their best angles.
[StarStruck] Steven and Piero Show They Can Really Sing
I must admit I fell in love with Steven here. He gave us so much of himself with that one performance!
Piero naman was so dashing and oozing with sex appeal. To think that he's only 16! Oh lord the hormones!
But still, Piero might be better looking than Steven (IMO) but Steven outshined Piero here. Watch below.
[StarStruck] Enzo Goes Wholesome, Rox and Princess Tries Sexy Dancing
Enzo danced with the kids while Rox and Princess did a sexy dance number together.
Funny why they'd put Rox and Princess in one number. They wanted to compare to tell which they should dump?
Enzo was so fun to watch, though. The energy! And he's so wholesome. Perhaps he'd get to co-host Archangel eventually. LoL!
Watch the video below.
[StarStruck] Ian on Guitar, Diva and Sarah Sing and Dance
Ian Batherson chose to show off his guitar skills and he looked like a true rock star with his do and tight pants (so sexy).
Diva Montelaba and Sarah Lahbati both did a sing-and-dance number but one did so good while the other was so mediocre.
Diva Montelaba is shining!
[StarStruck] Rocco Nacino and Nina Kodaka on Drums
The StarStruck V Survivors showed off their talents that they are most comfortable with.
Rocco Nacino and Nina Kodaka chose to exhibit their drumming abilities. They were joined by Aira of the Sexbomb Girls.
And then Lolit Solis called Sexbomb Aira as Alpha. LoL!
[StarStruck] Season V's Dance Craze - "Enjoy"
StarStruck is known for its Dance Craze every season which are made popular by the survivors themselves. Most memorable dances from the past seasons are "Average Joe" and "Follow the Leader."
Geleen Eugenio has been StarStruck's Dance Craze choreographer since season 1. And for season 5, she was able to come up again with another sure hit dance craze to the tune of "Enjoy."
Watch Mark Herras perform "Average Joe" with the current batch of male survivors, Ryza Cenon with the female survivors doing "Follow the Leader," and the Top 10 StarStruck V Survivors doing their very own Dance Craze, "Enjoy."
[StarStruck] Factor 3 - The Audience Power
StarStruck V's Factor 3 (The Vote-Out Power) has taken into effect that's why tonight was declared a non-elimination night.
And what is Factor 3? Well, it has 3 levels:
1. The viewers has a bigger power next week for they will control 60% of the decision on who will stay and who will go. Well more on who will go cuz the viewers get to vote the survivor they want to be out of the competition.
2. The council get to give 20% of the score on who they think should be eliminated. But with Factor 3 taking effect, their one-time power to save a survivor will temporarily be suspended for a week.
3. The survivors will have a "say" on the elimination. The remaining 20% of the score will come from them. They will have to vote out a fellow survivor next week.
At the very least, a double elimination will happen. One male and one female survivor will have to go.
Since tonight was declared a non-elimination night, the votes that the survivors got for this week will be carried over to next week's results.
So people, to vote out a StarStruck survivor, here are the guidelines:
Just type OUT
To make it clearer, here's a screencap =)
Just please be guided that for this week (and this week alone), we are voting for the survivor that we want to eliminate.
[StarStruck] Shirtless Cuties
StarStruck V's photoshoot episode was aired a while ago. And the shirtless boys were all so flawless that even Barbie Chan commented "wala kang itatapon" and that she would save them all if she could.
"World renowned" photog Jun de Leon went behind the camera, but as vicious as he is known to be, no one among the survivors got a bashing.
I was only interested with the boys, and the most gwapo for me was Ian Batherson.
Look at the behind:
I hope he wins the challenge tomorrow but I guess not. The photog and the mentors picked Princess and Diva among the girls, and Roco and Piero among the boys. But oh well, it's still not final.
Here are the rest of the guys:
Enzo:
Piero:
Roco:
Steven:
[StarStruck] J as a Goat
I liked the female "corporate spiritual consultant" they hired to read the StarStruck survivors' tarot. She talks well. A big improvement from the likes of Madam Rosa. Her name's Maricel Gaskell (it rhymes).
But the other one named Mr. E. is no match to Maricel. Ano ba yun? I don't think I'd be taking whatever he says seriously. And wth is with the green headdress? With matching yellow shirt. He looks like in a Halloween costume of an elf.
Mr. E: S'ya ay may letter dyey sa name.
Piero: J...
Mr. E: Dye as a Goat, no?
Laugh trip.
[StarStruck] Sef Cadayona Goes Home
I wasn't able to watch the elimination last night but it really surprised me that Sef Cadayona went home this early.
I'm not a fan but I can name one or two males that were more deserving to go home last night.
But I also admit that despite the fact that Sef looks good, he doesn't look like a star.
He reminds me of Marvin Agustin who is talented and is always visible but can never be a superstar.
I'm sure Sef will get projects to boost his career. His smile is so endearing I'm sure he already has a fan base consisting of high school girls.
SOP will also need him cuz he dances well.
Anyway, last night was Rox Montealegre's first time in the Bottom 3. And Princess Snell's 2nd! LOL! One more and she will automatically be eliminated. Just like Ian Batherson who had also been in the bottom group twice.
C'mon guys. Vote for Rox! She should be saved. Princess should go home ahead of her.
What's the New Time Slot?
Haven't been watching StarStruck Shout Out lately. A different show replaced its time slot.
Too bad I missed the episode last Friday. They must have announced that day what their new time slot would be starting this week.
But still, they could have issued more advisories of some sort over the weekend for those not in the know.
Rocco Nacino's Girlfriend
Oh lookie! StarStruck V's Rocco Nacino's girlfriend of two years, Yvonne Romero.
What can you say? I can sense a break-up. LOL! Just kidding. But really, sudden fame and lack of time can do that.
