The Valiente Bloggers Event

I was at Pepeton's Grill yesterday for the Valiente Bloggers Event.

Pepeton's - watermarked

It seemed like ages when I last went to that part of Quezon City. It made me nostalgic of the time when I was still writing novels, traveling two long hours via ordinary bus with a printed out 120-page manuscript inside my bag, holding it like a newborn child.

I went with Jun. The invite said 2 PM. We arrived at 2:30 PM. The event started around 3:30 PM.

We left exactly 5 PM and Jun was a little nervous because he still had a presentation to make at 5:30 PM. From Mother Ignacia, he had to travel all the way to McKinley where his office was.

I actually don't know what happened because we still haven't talked since after the event. LoL!

Valentine cups - watermarked

They gave out these cute Valentine cups as a token for attending the event. V daw kasi could mean either Valiente or Valentine's.

The above photo was taken by Jun. He's supposed to be my videographer but I kinda knew he would get the DSLR from me once he saw it. So I ended up taking videos.

BTW, Valiente is a remake of the 90s afternoon soap and will be shown on TV5 starting Monday, Feb. 13th. It stars JC De Vera, Oyo Sotto, Nadine Samonte and Niña Jose among others.

What's Your Name?

There's a new blog on tumblr called What's Your Name? which is dedicated to those people not good with faces. If you have a picture of someone from years ago (or just recently, it wouldn't matter) that you forgot the name of, just send them that pic along with your e-mail (you might want to make a new one just for this purpose) to whatsyournameblog@gmail.com, and they'll post it. If readers happen to know the person in the pic, they can easily send that person's name to the e-mail you provided.

Cool, no?

Ummm... perhaps just for the fun of it, we can post our own photos and see if anyone from the interweb knows us LOL! Just kidding. But not bad if you want to test how popular you are.

White House Bloggers

The White House website has added a new attraction: a blog! That's hip. Now we will know what's going on inside... or will we?

First post was last January 20 so it really must be an idea from the Obama team. I really, really think it would be a great administration. What with Blackberries and fashion senses. But I hope they'd look at the environmental issues first.

There's an Internet in Heaven.

You don't just do something without a goal. You eat because you want to satisfy your hunger, you drink because you wanna get rid of the thirst; you take a bath because you want to be clean; you go to school because (your parents want you to) you want to be a successful professional someday, or in the case of some, just so their high school diplomas will get them through as factory workers.

I blog because I wanna share to the world whatever little knowledge I have. One of my friends write just to have an outlet for her rants about life. Some blog just to be known in the blogosphere.

But Roy blogs hoping his wife can read it in heaven.

Hacked!

I maintain three blogs. All in blogger. Good thing I didn't put them all in a single account. One of my blogs, the one who gets the most traffic, has been hacked. Hate it. Really hate it.

Selective Expandable Peekaboo with Fade-out Effect Posts

I spent practically the whole day editing blog layouts. And all I had for my own blog was the expandable peekaboo with fade-out effects thing. Haha peekaboo. I didn't know it was called "that" until this afternoon. I remember asking Bans about how she's able to cut her posts with the clickable "read more" thing. She didn't know. Anyway, she's on livejournal and I just resigned to thinking that blogspot is primitive so I can't cut my posts. But thanks to http://hackosphere.blogspot.com. I learned something new.

Where did I learn about hackosphere, anyway? From Jenna Sy's blog.

My internet morning habits include visiting
1. my mailbox
2. www.jessicarulestheuniverse.com
3. www.sijennasy.blogspot.com (she's cute/funny/interesting)
4. www.thengirl.livejournal.com (hope she updates)
5. inq.net
6. my friendster account (if ever I feel like it)
7. cabal online (just recently)

I also used to read Brian Gorell's blog but not anymore. There are lots of negative vibes in his blog. And negativity is contagious. Yea, he might say he only writes what's going on (in the Philippines), but we don't have to focus/dwell so much on the bad things. Because if we do, we will attract these bad things into our lives. Ok, enough of The Secret. But yea, there's an 8th habit. I watch The Secret on my PC every morning, too. It's not an "internet" thing but I still do it on my PC. So there.

40,000 hits on the first 3 days. Now that's a lot. Mr. Gorell really knows how to catch our attention. Real-life telenovela. The rich and famous, with their secrets. It made The Buzz seem like a kiddie show. The $70,000 blog is more interesting than the daily news. It's interactive. I even read the comments :)

Pity on Bryan Gorell. But really, it pays to use the head always, not just the heart.
